Yes, sterilise all parts that come into contact with breast milk after each use, especially for newborns or babies with weakened immune systems. You can sterilise by boiling parts in water for 5 minutes, using a steam steriliser, or placing dishwasher-safe parts in a dishwasher with a sanitise setting. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling to prevent condensation in the tubing. The correct flange size is crucial for comfortable, effective pumping. Your nipple should move freely in the flange tunnel without rubbing or pinching.
